Vahid Borji, Ph.D.

I am an Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education, at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Department of Mathematics Education, Charles University in Prague.

My research studies mainly focus on:

  • Helping students to learn mathematical concepts conceptually by understanding different representations (i.e., graphical, algebraic, numerical, verbal, etc.) of the concept.
  • Analyzing students’ understanding of mathematical concepts based on APOS (Action-Process-Object-Schema) theory and combination with other theories.
  • Using technology (GeoGebra, Maple, etc.) alongside paper-pencil activities in the teaching and learning of mathematics.
  • Preparing prospective mathematics teachers (high school level) for their future teaching.
  • Publications
