My first photo of Jupiter and four Galilean moons (the labels are according to what Stellarium thinks). This is Saturn [citation ?]. No moons are visible, altough I could definitely see Titan with my eye. Unfortunately, my camera is a little bit suboptimal. Partial eclipse of sun taken on 10 June 2021 using a telescope with solar filter. Mars. I cannot see polar caps (not to mention the moons) from my location and with my apparatus. Venus. Usually, phases can be observed, but this time she was full. Conjunction of Moon (middle), Jupiter (top) and Venus (bottom) from February 22, 2023. It looked surreal. Even people uninterested in astronomy stopped and noticed that there is something unusual in the night sky. The dark half of Moon is slightly visible. This effect is called da Vinci light and it is a reflection of light from Earth. It is difficult to describe how beautiful it is to see the Moon with a telescope. The Moon becomes plastic all of sudden and you can observe hundreds of craters. You should try it yourself! Back to home page.
