Final exam

There will be no test during the semester. The final exam consists of the written part and of the oral part. The oral part will take place a day after the written part. If a student fails the oral part, then he/she has to start with the written part next time again. Each student has to enroll for the exam using SIS.

Written part. Each test consists of four problems. One can gain 60 points. The duration of the test is 120 minutes. Everyone can use any literature (books, lecture notes, etc.). Eletronic devices are prohibited (e.g., notebooks, cell phones, calculators, etc. ). It is necessary to gain at least 35 points to pass the written part.

Oral part. The oral part usually will take place a day after the written part. Each student should prepare your answers within approximately 40 minutes. During the oral part only pencil and paper are allowed. Then the student should present answers and should answer complementary quetions. Each set of questions consists of the following:

- definition of the key notion (0 points),
- definition (5 points),
- definition (5 points),
- statement of a theorem (5 points),
- statement of a theorem (5 points) and its proof (10 points),
- statement of a theorem (5 points) and its proof (10 points),
- statement of a theorem (5 points) and its proof (10 points).

A necessary condition for passing the oral part is to know and to understand all key notions, further, it is also necessary to gain at least 35 points.

Final assessement
105-120 points ... excellent (1)
90-104 points ... very good (2)
70-89 points ... good (3)
