The final state exam consists of two parts - the first one is the defense of the master's thesis and the second one is the oral part. Students may (after fulfilling conditions specified in the degree plans) enroll to one of the parts or to both. Their order is not fixed, but the conditions required for the two parts may differ. The given term of the final exam usually takes place within one day - the defenses are followed by the oral part.

Temporal changes due to the pandemic

Changes due to the pandemic COVID19

Due to the pandemic COVID19 and related restrictions, final exams may be subject to some changes:

  • Possible changes of the sumbission process: The necessity to submit a paper version of the thesis was cancelled for some terms. Currently it applies to the period May 1 - September 30, 2021, i.e., to the summer and autumn terms in 2020/2021.

  • Possibility of the remote form: The final exam may take place by a fully or partially remote form if necessary. The concrete form will be specified at the individual terms, depending on the situation.

  • Different form of the oral part: In case of necessity to keep social distance, the student prepares his/her answers at a desk and presents them at the blackboard.
